As a Trainee Manager at Majestic Wine, you will play a pivotal role in supporting your Store Manager in driving sales performance and overseeing daily operations. Key Responsibilities

At Majestic Wine, our customers are central to everything we do. In this role, you will act as an ambassador for the store, fostering an outstanding shopping experience for every customer. Your main responsibilities will include:

Operational Support: Assist your Store Manager in managing daily operations and driving performance. You will take charge of the store and the team in their absence, ensuring a seamless experience for both customers and staff.

Sales Maximization: Actively drive store performance by identifying sales opportunities. You will analyze and optimize KPI performance, focusing on key areas for improvement and building actionable plans to exceed targets.

Customer Service Excellence: Deliver market-leading customer service that fosters loyalty and encourages repeat purchases. Your approach will include offering a VIP concierge service to customers, keeping them updated on products and tastings.

Product Passion: Share your enthusiasm for our product range by effectively communicating its stories to customers. You will manage tasting events and create a compelling tasting counter that highlights our offerings.

Team Development: Assist in the recruitment, management, and development of your team. Act as a mentor to junior staff, providing feedback to your Store Manager on their progress and areas for growth.

Continuous Learning: Support junior team members in developing their product knowledge and achieving WSET qualifications, while also committing to your own professional development.

Store Maintenance: Take pride in the store’s appearance, both inside and out, and ensure any issues are swiftly reported and addressed. Your accountability for the store’s condition will reflect our brand's standards.

Operational Improvements: Constantly seek opportunities to enhance operational efficiency within the store, ensuring that internal policies and compliance measures are met.

Communication: Help disseminate store, regional, and business updates to ensure all team members are informed and aligned with our objectives.

Knowledge and Skills Required

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess:

Retail Experience: Experience working in a fast-paced, target-driven retail or hospitality setting, with a proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service.

KPI Understanding: A strong grasp of retail KPIs and the ability to implement strategies for improvement.

Problem-Solving Skills: The capability to prioritize tasks and strategically solve problems in high-pressure environments.

Self-Motivation: A proactive attitude that enables you to thrive both independently and as part of a team.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong time management abilities.

WSET Qualification: A WSET Level 2 qualification is essential, with a willingness to pursue WSET Level 3 to progress to Store Manager.

Driving License: A valid UK/EU/EEA driving license for at least 12 months with no more than six penalty points.
