**Primary Focus**
In the role of Health Economist, you will assess the methodologies, data, results, and assumptions of economic evaluations. You will design and conduct economic evaluations and budget impact analyses, producing reports to inform stakeholders. You will lead the economic components of multidisciplinary research projects focused on health technologies, such as drugs and medical devices.
**Daily Responsibilities**
As a Health Economist, your responsibilities will include:
- Critically appraising economic evaluations submitted by manufacturers or available in the public domain.
- Designing and conducting economic evaluations and budget impact analyses for drugs and health technologies.
- Developing computer-based economic models as needed for evaluations and analyses.
- Leading and coordinating efforts among internal and external research team members to achieve project objectives.
- Preparing comprehensive reports for stakeholders.
- Participating in expert and advisory committee meetings to present and clarify economic findings.
- Collaborating with management to compile economic information for drug reviews and reconsiderations.
- Providing input and reviewing reports generated by other researchers within the project team.
- Contributing to process documentation and improving research methodologies.
- Representing CADTH at conferences and external meetings.
**Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A graduate degree in economics, mathematics, epidemiology, or public health, along with 2 to 4 years of relevant experience, particularly in developing and critically assessing economic evaluations and models.
- A solid understanding of health economic methods, including skills in decision analytics, simulation, and statistical modeling.
- Strong analytical abilities and excellent interpersonal skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.
- The ability to work independently, prioritize projects, and meet competing deadlines.
- A commitment to high-quality work and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills (written, oral, and presentation) to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
**Preferred Qualifications**
The following qualifications will be considered assets:
- Training in epidemiology or biostatistics.
- Experience in critically appraising clinical trials, observational studies, and network meta-analyses.
- Fluency in French.
