Job Purpose:
The Supervisor for Filling and Packing Operations is responsible for overseeing the filling and packing processes of Derms, managing the packing materials in the RO store, and ensuring that finished products are delivered to patients on time and in full. This role adheres to GSK’s Quality Policy and vision, ensuring compliance with all quality standards throughout the supply chain.

Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Pharm-D degree
  • 4-5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in packing and filling operations

Key Responsibilities:

RO Store Management:

  • Supervise inventory management and the shipment of materials within the RO store.
  • Utilize SAP for various functions, including STO maintenance, daily stock runs, delivery creation, batch determination, shipment creation, picking and packing, goods issues, invoice creation, and cancellation.
  • Ensure that packaging materials are stored and handled according to their specific conditions and requirements.
  • Assist with the receipt and issuance of packing and finished goods materials, in collaboration with warehouse and production teams.
  • Support the management of the Quality Management System (QMS) and the implementation of SAP in the warehouse.

Production Supervision:

  • Oversee manufacturing operations to meet production plans and timelines effectively.
  • Optimize resource utilization to deliver high-quality products while improving key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Contribute to the updating of production visual boards to track progress.

Inventory Management and Purchasing:

  • Maintain accurate inventory levels of consumables within the department.
  • Obtain quotations from suppliers and secure necessary approvals from procurement.
  • Raise purchase orders as needed to ensure sufficient stock.

Risk Management:

  • Lead departmental risk management efforts, identifying potential risks at the sites.
  • Ensure timely completion of risk mitigation plans and actions.
  • Support technical teams with various assessments, such as Technical Risk Assessments (TRA), Critical Process Parameters (CPP), and Critical Process Validation (CPV).

Operational Excellence:

  • Effectively implement the GPS (Global Production System) within the area of responsibility.
  • Ensure that GPS fundamentals are established and consistently applied in the department.

Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE):

  • Foster a culture of operational excellence within the manufacturing department.
  • Contribute to identifying and developing improvement projects aimed at generating cost savings.

Root Cause Analysis and Deviations:

  • Assist in investigating incidents to identify root causes.
  • Ensure that appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented.

SAP Management:

  • Compile batch records and ensure timely postings of manufacturing data in SAP.

Training and Development:

  • Provide training on new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to staff members.
  • Maintain training records for the team and ensure all training is completed by deadlines.

Change Control Management:

  • Participate in the initiation of change controls.
  • Attend change control meetings and provide relevant input as necessary.

Quality Compliance:

  • Strive for ‘right first-time’ performance.
  • Maintain the department in a constant state of inspection readiness.
  • Raise deviations as needed and ensure that SOPs are 100% implemented and in use.
  • Conduct Level 1 inspections per the approved schedule and document findings.
  • Prepare and monitor Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for observations related to various audit levels.

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS):

  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure a strong safety culture is embedded within the team.
  • Comply with EHS standards by performing audits, documenting observations, and ensuring timely CAPA implementation.
  • Implement Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures in the area of responsibility.

CMMS and Project Management:

  • Track and resolve line issues using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Identify and manage departmental improvement projects while maintaining the finance dashboard for the department.
